Kymberlee Friesen Pacheco 3:51pm Jun 8 What an amazing day. Volunteered at a sandbagging site and met some incredible people! Brought tears to my eyes to see all the different "walks of life" that busted butts to help those they don't know. Tyson brought lunch, and turns out there was way to much, so I drove around to different sites (thanks Judy for the directions) and did my best to make sure people were eating. Awesome feeling!View Post on Facebook · Edit Email Settings · Reply to this email to add a comment.

Fwd: Update: Missouri River
From: Renae BillingsDate: June 2, 2011 10:06:40 AM CDTTo: Renae BillingsSubject: Update: Missouri RiverGood morning,
I just wanted to provide a quick update in regards to the Missouri River water levels and community efforts.
Governor Branstad will be in Sioux City today. Among other tours, the Governor will participate in the sand bagging event at Long Lines at approximately 12:30 p.m. A local emergency declaration has been signed by Sioux City Mayor Pro-Tem and the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors Chairperson.
The Emergency Operation Center is staffed for daily operation from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m to monitor the current situation. A call center has been activated as of this morning at The Security Institute to direct questions to the appropriate person for assistance. The number is 224-5262.
The forecast predicts a flow of 150,000 cfs for Sioux City on Monday, June 6th. That is up to an elevation of 1088' in the Riverfront area.
Chris Larsen Park Road is closed to all through traffic. However, access is being maintained for the Riverfront businesses.
The southbound I-29 Interstate on ramp from the Hamilton Blvd Interchange to I-29 has been closed as of June 1st. This closure is to allow for a temporary crossover ramp to be constructed from the interstate to the Wesley Way Interchange to provide access to Sioux City and South Sioux City.
Sandbagging and berming is underway at the critical infrastructure points on the Riverfront. Volunteers have been secured to cover sand bagging efforts from June 2nd-5th.
I will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if we can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
